If you cannot connect to the Ecco Risk Manager server after installing and connecting the VPN, you may need to update the VPN settings (known as a 'topology') in order for your VPN Connection to correctly 'see' the Ecco servers.
To do this, please right click on the golden key icon near the system clock on the lower right hand side of the Windows taskbar and choose the Settings option.
When you see 'vpn.mfglobal.com.au' listed under the Sites section, right click on it and select 'Update Site'. You will receive a message indicating that the update was successful.
After updating the site, please close down Ecco and attempt to relogin. It should now work as intended.Ecco - Licence Code Installation

Ecco - Login Guide
This article describes how to login to the Ecco Trading and Risk Manager servers.
In order to login to your Ecco software, you will be provided with two Username and Password accounts by your advisor. The first set is for logging into the Ecco Risk Management environment, whilst the second set is used to actually login to the SFE to begin trading.
- To login, double click on the Ecco icon located on your desktop, or, if you have already started the software itself previously, click on the File menu and move the mouse to the Login option and choose the Risk Manager Login… option.
- Type in the Risk Manager username and password that was given to you by your advisor and click on the Next button to attempt the login.
- Once you have logged in successfully, click on the Finish button. You will then be prompted to login to the SFE.
- Click Next to continue.
- When prompted, please left click on the entry labelled SFE and a small tick will be shown. Click Next to continue. You will be shown a username and password prompt, with the username being greyed out; this is normal.
- Enter the password for the SFE that was provided to you by your trading advisor and click Next to continue.
- If you are successful, click Finish to finalise your login. If you login failed, please repeat the login procedure.
- If you are still experiencing issues please contact the IT Helpdesk for assistance.

Ecco says that no pre-trade limits have been set.
This message can result from a number of scenarios when attempting to login to the Ecco Risk Manager.
You may find that you simply do not have any limits set to trade on Ecco due to Account keeping reasons. Please contact your trading advisor or a member of our Risk Management Department to determine if this is in fact the case.
Alternatively you may have momentarily lost connection to the SecureRemote VPN server which caused your login to partially fail. As a security precaution when such an error occurs, all limits on the Ecco Risk Manager are disabled for your account. Please shutdown your Ecco software and log back in again to reset the connection to a 'healthy' status.
Lastly, if this issue occurs in between the day and evening SFE sessions, you may have logged into the Ecco Risk Manager server whilst the SFE is still conducting its afternoon clearing and reset operations. Please shutdown your Ecco software and log back in again in a few moments time.
My contracts have disappeared from the Market Watch.
After running Ecco successfully you may encounter a situation where contract data disappears from the Market Watch screen when you log in, even though you are successfully connected via the VPN and have logged into the Ecco servers without any problems.
This occurs when the Exchange Selection option is unticked under the Global Options, Contract List area.
To restore your contract information within Ecco:
- Click on the Tools menu.
- Select Options.
- Click on the Contract Selection Tab.
- Under the Contract List area, locate the box next to the SFE or other associated exchange.
- Left click on the box to restore the Tick symbol.
- Click OK to confirm your change.
Your Ecco workspace will reload briefly and your pre-existing contract data will then be displayed correctly.
My licence code is due to expire or is invalid.
This article explains how the Ecco Licence Code is updated, and how to install it within the Ecco software.
